What Eniteo is
Eniteo is the ERP platform of Enmark Systems, built for metal service centers and for no other business. Sales, purchasing, receiving, production scheduling, shipping, and accounting run in one system, with the metals-specific handling that dimensioned inventory, remnants, and heat traceability demand. Enmark states that the platform is deployed in hundreds of service centers, and readers of the trade publication Metal Center News have repeatedly voted it the top ERP for the industry. Both claims come from the vendor. Neither is out of line with how visible the product is in the North American market.
Company and product background
Enmark Systems has been in Ann Arbor, Michigan since 1983 and has spent its entire history serving the metal service center industry. Accel-KKR, a technology-focused private equity firm, made a growth investment in November 2021; Grant Stanis took over as CEO and founder Michael Rybicki moved into the CTO role.
The bigger event came in January 2024, when Enmark acquired Bayern Software, its long-time competitor and the vendor of the Steel Plus and Capstone products. The combined company operates under the Enmark name. Eniteo is the go-forward platform, absorbing selected capabilities from the Bayern product line.
Functional scope
Quoting and sales, purchasing, receiving, shipping, production order scheduling, outside (toll) processing, and integrated accounting are all in scope. On the floor, work runs on touchscreens with barcode scanning, so office-side inventory and production status reflect what actually happened. The metals-specific set is where the product separates itself: remnant tracking, heat-level traceability with mill certificates, and multi-branch operation, requirements that generic ERP products handle poorly without customization. The traceability model works much like batch traceability in other regulated supply chains.
Target market and industries
Metal service centers and metals distributors in North America, from a small single-site startup operation up to a large multi-branch master distributor. General manufacturers and fabricators working outside the service center model are not the audience, and the product is not positioned for them. Competition in the niche comes mainly from Invera, with STRATIX and INVEX, and from Business Central-based vertical products such as RealSTEEL.
How it is sold
Cloud-hosted, quoted per project. Enmark publishes neither pricing nor technical hosting detail on its website, which puts the burden on the buyer: ask for hosting infrastructure, uptime commitments, and data ownership terms in writing during evaluation. Our ERP cost guide gives that budget conversation a structure.
Where it wins, where it loses
One industry, served thoroughly. For a US metal service center that is close to an argument to shortlist Eniteo by default, and the Accel-KKR backing together with the Bayern acquisition signals continued investment in the niche rather than a wind-down.
The consolidation cuts both ways. Steel Plus and Capstone customers are expected to converge on Eniteo over time, and anyone in that position should extract a concrete migration path and timeline before committing. Companies outside the service center model should not be looking at this product at all. Buyers who want a broad platform ecosystem rather than a dedicated vertical suite will find it limiting, and Business Central-based alternatives are the more sensible comparison for them; our ERP selection guide explains how to run that comparison.
