Overview
ePS Radius is an enterprise resource planning system built for one industry: packaging converting. Converting-specific estimating, scheduling, and shop floor management sit in the same platform as order management, purchasing, inventory, and accounting. The product is developed and sold by eProductivity Software (ePS), whose packaging business operates as an independent, Pittsburgh-based software company, and it counts among the established ERP options for North American folding carton, label, and flexible packaging plants.
Where ePS Radius comes from
Radius Solutions, a print and packaging MIS and ERP developer with development roots in the United Kingdom, wrote the original system. Electronics For Imaging (EFI) acquired the company in July 2010, after which the platform was marketed as EFI Radius. In January 2022 Symphony Technology Group (STG) carved EFI's productivity software business out into a standalone company, and Radius became part of the newly formed eProductivity Software.
October 2025 brought another split. The Print ePS division merged with CAI Software, while the ePS Packaging division, which owns Radius, stayed outside that deal and continued as an independent, STG-backed company. Product work did not pause through the reshuffling: during 2025 ePS modernized Radius as a cloud-first platform, introduced the Radius Hub customer self-service portal, and released Radius 13.0, and the 2026 CommandCore release line added Pack AI, an assistant embedded inside Radius screens.
Modules and capabilities
Radius covers the quote-to-cash cycle of a converting operation. Estimating is product-specific for cartons, labels, and flexible materials, including print-plus-converting routings, which is precisely the part generalist systems handle badly. Order management, purchasing, inventory, and financial accounting share one database, and shop floor data collection feeds actual costs back against the original estimate.
Around that core, ePS positions modules for smart scheduling, manufacturing execution (MES), quality and compliance, sustainability reporting, and supply chain connectivity. Lot and reel tracking carries the batch traceability obligations that food, beverage, and pharmaceutical brand owners push down onto their packaging suppliers.
Best-fit companies
Mid-market and enterprise converters, not small shops and not commercial printers. Folding carton plants, label converters, flexible packaging producers, and corrugated operations make up the typical customer base, frequently multi-site and frequently under scrutiny from demanding brand owners. Sales and support are strongest in North America and Europe. For very small label converters, ePS itself points to Paxis, a separate cloud MIS launched in 2025.
Deployment and pricing
Radius was an on-premises system for most of its history, and part of the installed base still runs that way. Since the 2025 modernization the vendor leads with cloud-first delivery, and the Radius Hub portal is delivered as a cloud service. Pricing is not published. Deals are quoted by modules, users, and sites, with implementation and data migration as separate cost blocks; the general cost factors are outlined in our ERP cost guide.
Editorial verdict
The case for Radius is depth. Converting-specific estimating and costing at this level of detail is something generalist ERP platforms reach only through heavy customization, and heavy customization in a converting plant is expensive to build and worse to maintain. Established folding carton, label, and flexible packaging companies that want plant-level manufacturing control and corporate financials in one system are the right audience.
Small converters and commercial printers should not be in this sales conversation at all; the vendor's own Paxis exists for the former, and print MIS products serve the latter. For everyone else, two questions decide it: ownership and timing. The product has changed corporate homes repeatedly since 2010, and the cloud modernization program is recent enough that upgrade paths for older on-premises installs deserve written answers rather than reassurance. Benchmark at least one competing converter ERP and one platform-based alternative before you commit.
