Overview
AIMS360 is a cloud apparel ERP that follows a garment from style record to shipped carton: product data, production and vendor purchase orders, inventory and allocation, omnichannel order management, warehouse operations, shipping, invoicing, and retailer EDI. The target is the small or midsize US fashion brand, importer, or wholesaler whose revenue comes off the wholesale side, particularly from shipping to major retail chains.
Vendor, history, ownership
The company began in 1984 in the Los Angeles Garment District under the name Mr. Software, then became AIMS, short for Apparel Information Management System. AIMS360 is the cloud generation of that lineage and runs on Microsoft Azure. Ownership is private and the headquarters is still Los Angeles. Four decades of continuity in one vertical is worth noting, given how many apparel systems have been folded into larger portfolios in the meantime.
Functional scope
Styles carry size and color variants, costing, and imagery, and that data flows into production: cut tickets, vendor purchase orders, work-in-process tracking, receiving. Order management pulls wholesale orders, EDI orders from retail chains, and e-commerce orders from platforms such as Shopify into one flow, with allocation logic deciding which inventory serves which channel. Warehouse management is built in and covers picking, packing, and shipping, including retailer-specific requirements such as pre-packs. Two capabilities carry more weight than the rest. Native EDI reaches several hundred retail trading partners, and factor financing workflows run inside the system, which matters in a trade where assigning receivables to a factor is still normal practice. Financial accounting is the gap: general ledger work typically runs through synchronization with QuickBooks and other accounting integrations rather than a full native ledger. The package as a whole is aimed at apparel, footwear, and accessories companies with a wholesale-heavy channel mix, plus importers and wholesalers that also sell direct to consumers, and the compliance tooling for large US retailers is what makes it most relevant to businesses living off retail chain relationships.
How it is sold
SaaS hosted on Microsoft Azure, with no on-premises version. Pricing is not published. Quotes are structured around three plans, Bronze, Silver, and Gold, with minimums of three, five, and ten users respectively, plus modular add-ons for warehouse management, EDI trading partners, 3PL connectivity, and e-commerce integrations. The vendor states that quotes are itemized line by line and that implementation is billed separately from the subscription.
Our take
Buy AIMS360 if your revenue depends on department stores and national chains. Retailer EDI, compliance-sensitive shipping requirements, pre-packs, and factor financing are first-class features here rather than bolt-ons, and rebuilding that on a generic SMB platform is expensive and fragile. A pure direct-to-consumer label has no use for most of this machinery and would pay for weight it never lifts; the same goes for any company whose products are not sewn goods. Two caveats before the shortlist. Quote-only pricing means budget clarity starts with a discovery call, and finance teams should confirm early that a general ledger living in QuickBooks or a connected system fits their reporting expectations. Companies diversifying beyond apparel should test how far the data model stretches before making a selection decision.
